Much Ado about Love

Beatrice: “I would rather hear my dog bark at a crow than hear a man swear that he loves me.” I.i.121

Beatrice unfortunately believes that love is out of reach and impossible; thus, if one were to express their undying love for her she would simply dismiss the idea because she would automatically assume he was lying. Therefore, Beatrice made it clear to her peers that she is uninterested in hearing about and getting involved in a emotionally romantic situations.
