The short film “The Real Story of Bottled Water vs. Tap” presented by Corporate Accountability International, Polaris Institute, Environmental Working Group, Food & Water Watch and Pacific Institute was unquestionably an eye- opener. I was stunned by information they presented and also found it ironic that water, the healthiest and most beneficial substance in the world is one of the leading causes of pollution & unnecessary depletion of natural oil. All of this pollution and unnecessary depletion of oil is for a product that is of lower quality, worse taste and sometimes is the exact replica of tap water. To make matters worse, recycling doesn’t reduce its effect on the planet. For Instance, the United States ships our excess “garbage” (Bottled water) to India. I don’t understand why Americans and other individuals around the world must suffer for a substance we can get for free in our home. The fact that I use bottle water and believed in the “don’t drink tap water its bad” marketing makes me sick to my stomach because I believed without questioning. Thus as a result from watching this video, I will try to eliminate bottled water from my diet completely and I will no longer believe in everything people claim, no matter how legitimate it may appear.

Reflection & Interpretation
"To be caught up with the world of thought- that is educated." - Edith Hamilton
Technology, medicine, and science are constantly changing and improving; and that is because more individuals around the world are becoming serious when it comes to education. These individuals are not only studying the Basic English, mathematics, and science. They are studying the history and culture of countries all around the world as well as complex mathematics, science, medicine which in turn makes the world a more comfortable place. In this quote, I believe Edith Hamilton is stressing the importance of education because it is the only way is "caught up" with what’s happening in world; and the only way to contribute to the global enhancement. Everything is not just black and white anymore; there are now various shades of grey. There are so many thoughts and so many ideas from millions of people from all over the world. In order to properly interpret, debate, and act on those thoughts a person must be educated. Education can not only modernize the world but it can also being people of different ethnicities, religion, nationalities together because they can have a heated intellectual argument rather than turning to physical force.

Hour...
What would you do if the only hour you had left was the missing hour from daylights savings?
An hour, or 3600 seconds goes by incredibly fast when there are countless amounts of tasks that needs to be accomplished; so, I refuse to spend any of that precious time doing ridiculous things like sleeping shaving my head, having senseless sex, doing drugs, and/or running around naked. Being that I am religious, I would first pray to god asking him for forgiveness of any offenses I have committed in my 18 years of living. Next, I would call my closest friends, to tell them how much I love them and appreciate them; also adding a couple jokes into the conversation to help lighten up the mood. Then, I would go on Facebook and post a very broad message that wishes everyone on my friend list well. Finally, I would talk to my family with the remaining half hour telling them how much I love them, appreciate them while reflecting on the good, bad, and funny times we had together. Hopefully, my final hour will be spent at home rather than at school because than I would perish with my loved ones rather than a "stranger". Thus, If the hour given back was the only hour I have left, I would spend that time with the individuals that have been by my side, the individuals I trust, and the individuals I love because the are the core of my existence.

So much work, So little time
As of today, I am pathetically losing the fight against myself, my assignments, and college. College has opened my mind to new thoughts and ideas mostly due to the exposure to different individuals, from all over the world who have different ideologies than I do. It has challenged my ability to achieve my goals while helping me discover my strengths and weaknesses. However, College at this point in time has been a rude awakening. I feel as if I am drowning in a sea of assignments, and I don’t know if I have the strength to push against the invincible current to swim to safety. My anxiety level is at its peak and as a result, I tend to stop working on all my assignments as a way to decrease it. This action then doubles my workload, which in turn doubles my anxiety. With a handful of assignments due next week, I am trying my best to stop this cycle, endure the anxiety and exhaustion, and complete the assignments given.
In terms of my research paper, I have chosen a new topic because I was no longer interested in censorship in America. My current research paper topic is on animal experimentation. I have a profound love for animals and I feel that because animals cannot express their feelings the way humans can, people automatically think they don’t have any. Which is why I believe animal experimentation and testing should be banned internationally, and there should have better laws that protect their rights.
I would love to hear your opinions about this topic and will appreciate any advice you may give on how I can condese this topic and make it a bit more interesting for my audience.
